Tinubu Donates Salaries to Support Military Welfare

On his 74th birthday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced a significant initiative to support the welfare of military personnel and their families by donating all his salaries earned since assuming office. This announcement was made in a personal statement on Saturday.

The initiative aims to recognize the sacrifices made by soldiers across Nigeria and will involve the establishment of a special account by the Federal Government to fund welfare improvements for military personnel. The funds will provide direct support, including care for wounded soldiers and financial assistance for the widows and children of fallen heroes.

Tinubu called on stakeholders, including governors, members of the National Assembly, the private sector, and well-wishers, to support this initiative. He emphasized that the effort goes beyond charity, describing it as a national duty to honor those who risk their lives daily to protect the country.
