BREAKING: Tinubu Orders Wike, Umahi, Other Ministers To Submit Project Records

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed ministers to submit detailed records of projects executed by agencies and parastatals under their supervision to the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) for review and onward submission to the Presidency. The directive was issued during a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The FEC emphasized the need for the procurement process to be concluded by September 2025 to avoid unnecessary liabilities. Ministers were also urged to prioritize locally made goods and services in line with the "Nigeria First Policy," while ensuring international standards are met.

Projects funded by bilateral loans must involve BPP negotiations to guarantee transparency and value for money. Failure to comply with the Public Procurement Act and financial recklessness were also flagged.

The 2025 budget must undergo open competitive bidding to align with the government's Renewed Hope Agenda for job creation and poverty reduction.
