Bavoshiya's Inspiring Journey Through Cancer and Advocacy

Bavoshiya, a 54-year-old single mother from Southern Kaduna, has faced a nearly two-decade-long battle with multiple cancers, including breast, intestinal, liver, and stomach cancer. Diagnosed in February 2008 shortly after giving birth, she experienced a shocking transition from benign to malignant tumors.

Over the years, she has undergone numerous treatments and surgeries, often requiring significant financial resources, including N17.5 million for hospital care in Ajman. Despite her struggles, she became an advocate for others, founding the Kuna Foundation in 2005 to raise awareness and support for cancer patients.

Her health challenges have necessitated the use of an oxygen concentrator for 18 hours daily, alongside two monthly injections costing N168,350. Bavoshiya credits her survival to her faith and the support of her medical team, particularly Dr.

Musiliu Kola Odunola, who passed away in December 2025, leaving a legacy of care and compassion.
