Oshoala Advocates for Abducted Children After Nigeria Win

In a recent match at the Remo Star Sport Complex in Ikenne, Nigeria's Super Falcons secured a 2-1 victory against Senegal. Asisat Oshoala, a veteran striker, scored Nigeria's first goal from a penalty in the 32nd minute.

Following the match, Oshoala displayed a message on her wrist tape reading "Save Teacher, Bring Back Children," aimed at drawing attention to the recent mass school abductions in Oyo State. The incident involved simultaneous attacks on schools, resulting in the kidnapping of dozens of pupils and teachers.

Under the guidance of head coach Justin Madugu, the Super Falcons are preparing for the upcoming 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 25 to August 16. Nigeria, a nine-time African champion, aims to defend its title and secure an unprecedented 11th championship.

They have been drawn into Group C alongside Egypt, Malawi, and Zambia.
