Makinde Challenges Fayose Over Alleged Funds from Tinubu Government

Oyo State Governor Makinde has challenged former Ekiti State Governor Fayose's claims of receiving 50 billion Naira from the federal government to support victims of the 2024 Ibadan explosion. Makinde denies receiving such funds without a specific purpose, calling the allegations false and politically motivated.

He maintains that the 50 billion Naira was not disbursed but existed as a promissory note. Makinde also refutes claims of dishonesty and challenges Fayose to provide evidence publicly.

Additionally, Makinde acknowledges federal government support, with a portion of the funds going directly to victims. The statement also accuses Fayose of using the allegations as a political weapon against President Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027.
