Burna Boy Makes History as First African on Billboard 200

Nigerian Afrobeat star Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, has become the first African artist to top the Billboard Global 200 chart. This historic achievement is attributed to his collaboration on a World Cup song with Shakira, which peaked at number one on the chart.

The song's success has also led to Burna Boy moving up 12 places to reach a new peak of 55 on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.

Additionally, fellow Nigerian artist Tems has made strides by moving up five places to reach a new peak of 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 after 15 weeks on the chart. Tems has also reached a significant milestone on the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and the Mediabase Urban Radio Airplay chart, marking her as the first solo African artist to achieve this feat.
