Burna Boy's Legal Battle Delayed by CEO's Absence

The legal dispute involving Burna Boy's music catalog has encountered a setback due to the absence of Piriy Isokrari, the CEO of Aristokrat Music. The case, which centers on allegations of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, is being heard at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, with the next session scheduled for April 20, 2026.

The lawsuit was initiated by 960 Music Group, a minority shareholder in Aristokrat Music, challenging the legitimacy of a multimillion-dollar transaction concerning the transfer of ownership of Burna Boy's master recordings. The legal action claims that Aristokrat Music excluded 960 Music Group from decision-making processes regarding the sale, leading to a lawsuit aimed at invalidating the transaction.

Additionally, there are criminal allegations against Isokrari, with accusations of diverting funds from the sale into private accounts, depriving 960 Music Group of its rightful share. The case was previously mentioned in December 2025 and postponed to February 10, 2026, but neither the defendant nor their legal team appeared in court during the latest session.
