Nigerian singer Burna Boy achieved a milestone by setting a new record for the biggest streaming year by an African artist on Spotify, accumulating almost 2 billion streams in 2025. This feat placed him ahead of his colleagues such as Wizkid, Tyla, Rema, and Davido.

The data from Spotify's 2025 review revealed that Wizkid followed Burna Boy with 1.81 billion streams, while South African singer Tyla secured the third spot with 1.67 billion streams. This accomplishment solidifies Burna Boy's position as a leading figure in the African music industry.
