Nigerian Businesses Optimistic for Stronger Naira and Improved Activity in 2026

Nigerian businesses are anticipating a stronger Naira and enhanced business activities in 2026, as revealed by a survey conducted in December 2025. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) noted a positive sentiment among businesses towards investment decisions and operations.

The Business Confidence Index (BCI) stood at 37.5 in December 2025 and is projected to rise to 52.5 within six months, indicating robust optimism. Various sectors, including industry, agriculture, and services, expressed positive outlooks for business expansion and employment despite challenges like insecurity and inadequate power supply.
