CAC Delists 400,000 Companies in 2025 to Clean Database, Partners with SMEDAN for Free Business Registration

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria delisted over 400,000 companies in 2025 as part of efforts to clean its database of inactive and non-compliant entities. The Registrar General of CAC, Husseini Magaji, revealed this during a weekend walk in Abuja.

The move is aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the nation's company registry. Magaji also mentioned that CAC now provides services 24 hours a day, allowing businesses to register without physically visiting the office.

Additionally, CAC has partnered with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to facilitate free business registration for 250,000 entrepreneurs as part of its support for small businesses.
