CAC Introduces New Mandatory Requirements for Business Name Updates in Nigeria

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria has implemented new mandatory requirements for business name online updates, effective immediately. The new compulsory information fields include details such as date of birth, registered office email, proprietor's email, phone number, registered address, proprietor's number, and different valid means of identification.

These additional requirements are aimed at improving the verification process and ensuring a seamless handling of update requests. The move is part of CAC's ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency, enhance record accuracy, and streamline business registration services nationwide.

The announcement was made via the official CAC website on a Wednesday.
