CAF Confirms Morocco as Host for 2026 World Cup Playoffs, Sets Date

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed Morocco as the host nation for the 2026 World Cup playoffs. The tournament will feature high-stake matches to decide Africa's final representative for the FIFA World Cup.

The mini-tournament will include the four best runners-up from the continent's qualifying groups. The semi-final matches are scheduled for November 13, with the final set for November 16, 2025.

The winner of the playoffs will advance to represent Africa in the intercontinental playoff round in March 2026. CAF President Patrice Motsepe expressed optimism about Morocco's readiness to stage the tournament, despite ongoing protests in the country.
