Canada Advances to Round of 16 After Beating South Africa

In a historic match, Canada eliminated South Africa from the World Cup, achieving their first-ever Round of 16 appearance. The match, part of the first round of 32, showcased Canada's offensive strength, with Cyle Larin and Jonathan David testing South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, who made five crucial saves.

South Africa's Thapelo Maseko also had a notable attempt, but Canadian goalkeeper Maxim Crepeau was up to the task. As the match progressed, South Africa slowed the pace, seemingly preparing for extra time.

However, in the second minute of added time, Estacquio found himself in the right place to score from a deflected cross, securing the win for Canada. This victory marked Canada as the first CONCACAF team to win a knockout game in the World Cup since 2002.

They will face either Morocco or the Netherlands in the Round of 16.
