Cape Verde Withdraws from Super Falcons Friendly Matches

Cape Verde has officially pulled out of two scheduled international friendly matches against Nigeria's Super Falcons, which were set to take place on April 15 and April 18 at Remo Star Stadium in Ikenne. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is now scrambling to find a new opponent on short notice.

This situation complicates the Super Falcons' preparations for the upcoming 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for July. The current coach of the Super Falcons, Justin Madugu, had previously led the team in matches against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon during the last international window.

The friendly matches were intended to serve as part of the team's preparation for the continental tournament.
