Cardiff Stadium Considered for Fury vs. Joshua Fight

Cardiff's Principality Stadium has emerged as a potential venue to host the highly anticipated heavyweight boxing match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. The Welsh venue is reportedly willing to meet the broadcast requirements that have hindered plans for the fight at Wembley Stadium.

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, and Joshua himself have asserted that their contract stipulates the fight must take place on British soil. Attempts to relocate the bout to Madison Square Garden in New York faced resistance, particularly from broadcaster Netflix, which aims to attract an American audience, necessitating a fight start time in the early hours of the morning in the UK.

While Wembley Stadium cannot accommodate such a timing due to strict curfew rules, Cardiff is open to a start time around 2 am. Joshua's contract has long included a requirement for the fight to be held in the UK, and Hearn has suggested renegotiation options, including a higher purse.

Despite ongoing disputes, Joshua has resumed training at Ben Davison's gym in Essex.
