CAS Clears Tanzania for AFCON 2025 Despite Appeal Dismissal

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has upheld Tanzania's qualification for AFCON 2025, rejecting an appeal by the Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFOOT) over a dispute regarding a qualifying match where Tanzania allegedly fielded a player with the wrong shirt number. The CAS ruled that it was an administrative error with no sporting impact, supporting the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision to maintain Tanzania's qualification.

Tanzania is set to compete in Group C against Nigeria, Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, and Uganda in the upcoming tournament. The opening fixture will see Tanzania facing Nigeria on December 23.
