CBN to Auction N500 Billion in Treasury Bills on Sept 9

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on behalf of the Debt Management Office (DMO), has issued an Invitation to Tender for Nigerian Treasury Bills (NTB) totaling N500 billion, set to be auctioned on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The offer includes 91-day, 182-day, and 364-day tenors, with bids to be submitted via the CBN S4 WEB INTERFACE between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on the auction day.

Allotment letters for successful bids will be issued on Thursday, September 10, 2026, with payment due by 11:00 a.m. on the same day. The auction consists of N100 billion for the 91-day bill, N100 billion for the 182-day bill, and N300 billion for the 364-day bill, representing a decrease from the N700 billion offers in previous auctions during Q3 2026.

The CBN retains the right to reject bids or adjust the offer based on market conditions. This auction is the smallest recorded in the Q3 2026 NTB Issuance Programme, which aimed for N5.8 trillion in gross issuance from July to September.
