Court Denies Minister's Bid to Block UNN from Releasing Academic Records - Certificate Forgery Case

The Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected a bid by the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Uche Nnaji, to prevent the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), from releasing his academic records. Justice Yilwa dismissed Nnaji's motion seeking to block UNN from disclosing his academic transcript, stating that the application was only partly valid.

Nnaji had filed the motion to prevent the university from confirming his graduation, following allegations of certificate forgery. The court clarified that it could not grant relief to obstruct lawful actions and responded to inquiries confirming that the university had records verifying Nnaji's completion of studies.

Nnaji had previously admitted to collecting his certificate but claimed the university confirmed his graduation in a letter.
