Chad Stuns Ghana with Late Equalizer in World Cup Qualifier

Chad secured a last-gasp equalizer to hold Ghana to a surprise draw in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, cutting Ghana's lead in Group G. Jordan Ayew had put Ghana ahead before Chad's Celestin Ecua scored the equalizer with a deflected shot.

The draw meant Ghana missed the chance to extend their lead in the group, with Madagascar moving into second place after defeating the Central African Republic. Mali also secured a crucial win against Comoros.

Despite the draw, Ghana remains well-placed to secure a spot in the World Cup finals.
