Sudan's coach Kwesi Appiah clarified comments that were perceived as a dig at Eric Chelle, the coach of the Super Eagles B team, following their elimination from the CHAN 2024 African Nations Championship. The Super Eagles B team failed to score a goal in two matches and conceded five goals, resulting in their early exit from the tournament.

Appiah debunked reports of disrespect towards Chelle, emphasizing that he was misquoted in the media. He stated that his team would face Congo next, after losing to Senegal in their first match.

Appiah also mentioned that Sudan would play attacking football against the reigning champions in their upcoming match. Chelle, visibly distraught after the defeat, acknowledged his team's mistakes but did not comment further.
