Chinese Car Brands Compete for Nigeria's Car-Of-The-Year Award

The Nigerian automotive landscape is witnessing a dramatic showdown as three Chinese brands, Changan, Jetour, and Chery, emerge as top contenders for the 2025 Nigeria Car-Of-The-Year award. The shortlisted models include Changan CS55, Jetour Dash, and Chery Tiggo 8.

These brands are gaining acceptance among Nigerian buyers, challenging traditional players like Toyota and Kia. The event, organized by the Nigeria Auto Journalist Association (NAJA), will take place at the Orient Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The competition highlights innovation, durability, and relevance to Nigeria's unique motor conditions. The award committee, led by Theodor Opara and Frank Kintum, aims to elevate the industry standards and recognize excellence in the automotive sector.
