Super Eagles Coach Eric Chell to Exclude Two Players Ahead of AFCON 2025

Nigerian Super Eagles head coach Eric Chell has reportedly decided to focus on a core group of 26 players for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, despite initially listing 28 players. Chell, a former Mali coach, aims to guide the Super Eagles to their fourth AFCON title.

He has reportedly blacklisted two players, Salim Lawal and Fago Usman, from the current squad. Sport journalist Oluwabusayo Olowooker provided insights into Chell's strategy, emphasizing that not all players in the final squad will necessarily play matches during the tournament.
