Chelsea’s Chukwuemeka Joins Dortmund in £24m Deal

Borussia Dortmund has secured the signing of Chelsea's Carney Chukwuemeka in a £24 million deal. The England youth international spent the second half of last season on loan at the German club before making the permanent move.

Chukwuemeka, an attacking midfielder, had previously made 32 appearances for Chelsea and also had a loan spell at Aston Villa in 2022. As part of the deal, Chelsea's defender Aaron Anselmino will join Dortmund on loan.

This transfer will help Chelsea balance their books as they have been instructed by UEFA to record a positive transfer balance in order to register new signings for the Champions League. Several other players, including Nicolas Jackson, Raheem Sterling, and Ben Chilwell, are also linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea is considering bringing in players like Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons.
