China to End Visa-Free Entry for 48 Countries by 2026

China has announced that visa-free travel arrangements with 48 countries will terminate on 31 December 2026. This decision impacts nationals who currently enter China on ordinary passports without needing prior visa approval.

The countries affected include significant tourism partners such as the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, and various European Union member states. Latin American nations like Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay, along with Gulf states including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain, are also included in this list.

After the expiration of these agreements, nationals from the listed countries will need to apply for visas through the standard application process. No replacement agreements or extensions have been announced, and travelers are advised to stay updated on visa requirements from their respective governments ahead of the deadline.
