Chinese Language Promoted for Jobs and Global Trade

During the International Chinese Language Day celebration held in Abuja, representatives from the Nigerian government and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) urged Nigerians to embrace the Chinese language, describing it as a vital tool for global engagement, economic growth, and cultural exchange. Yang Jianx, the Cultural Counselor at the Chinese Embassy and Director of the China Cultural Center in Nigeria, highlighted the significant role of the Chinese language in connecting people and cultures worldwide, noting its historical roots in a 5,000-year-old civilization.

He emphasized that learning Chinese provides Nigerians with opportunities to better understand China and participate in mutually beneficial cooperation. Suleiman Musa, Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, discussed the importance of the Chinese language in diplomacy, trade, and media exchange, while Grace Ik, Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, underscored its role in fostering unity and mutual understanding between Nigeria and China.

The event also reflected the strong relationship between the two nations, driven by shared goals of progress and innovation.
