EFCC Boss Urges Enugu Students to Embrace Digital Skills

During a visit to the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) in Enugu State, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), urged students to reject internet fraud and instead concentrate on acquiring digital skills.

He warned that while cybercrime may appear lucrative, it ultimately destroys careers, reputations, and freedoms, leading to severe legal consequences. Olukoyede emphasized the importance of hard work and education in developing legitimate careers in the rapidly growing technology sector, including software development, cybersecurity, and graphic design.

He encouraged students to utilize technological tools for positive development rather than engaging in criminal activities. Superintendent Paul Ikpor, the head of public affairs for the EFCC's Enugu zonal office, supported this message, reminding students that cybercrime is a fast track to self-destruction.

Olukoyede concluded by calling on students to become ambassadors of integrity within their school communities.
