CICAN to Host National Dialogue on $1 Trillion Economy

The Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN) has announced a national dialogue focused on the Federal Government’s $1 trillion economy agenda, coinciding with its 20th anniversary celebration. The event is set for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Barcelona Hotel, Abuja, and will gather policymakers, industry leaders, regulators, investors, development partners, and media practitioners.

The dialogue aims to explore strategies for Nigeria’s economic transformation and achieving the ambitious $1 trillion target. The theme for the anniversary is “FG’s $1 Trillion Economy: Role of Policy Makers, Stakeholders and Media in Its Actualisation.” Key discussions will center on the roles of government, the private sector, and media in policy implementation, investment promotion, and sustainable development.

The event will also feature the CICAN Awards of Excellence, recognizing individuals and institutions, including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, and Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina, for their contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth.
