Court Dismisses Action Alliance Leadership Suit by Udez

On February 17, 2025, the Federal High Court in Osogbo, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite, struck out a suit filed by Kenneth Udez, the national chairman of the Action Alliance (AA), against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The suit challenged the legitimacy of the party's leadership and its governorship candidacy for Ekiti State, specifically concerning Ayo Ogunlad and his deputy, Opeyemi Enitan.

The court ruled that it lacked jurisdiction to entertain the case, as it primarily dealt with internal party matters, which are non-justiciable. Udez's suit, initiated in December 2025, alleged INEC's failure to comply with provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.

Following the judgment, Udez expressed his intent to appeal, asserting that the ruling did not address the merits of the case and emphasized the need for fair political participation.
