CJN Warns Judges Against Conflicting Orders in 2027 Elections

Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Kudirat Kekere-Ekun cautioned judges in the country against giving conflicting orders during the upcoming 2027 general elections to avoid the misuse of ex parte applications. She emphasized the need for firm enforcement of procedures and discipline within the judiciary to prevent it from being perceived as a tool for political gamesmanship.

The warning was issued during a special court session marking the commencement of the Federal High Court of Nigeria's 2025-2026 legal year. Justice Kekere-Ekun also highlighted the importance of timely delivery of justice and the active management of cases to enhance judicial efficiency.
