Ekid Community Urges Akwa Ibom Governor to Implement Court Ruling on Creek Land Dispute

The Ekid community in Akwa Ibom State is urging the governor to implement a court ruling regarding a land matter concerning the creek. The community, represented by key stakeholders, rejected the proposed committee for Stubbs Creek Forest, deeming it unnecessary and suspicious.

They emphasized the need for urgent implementation of the previous court ruling, citing multiple court judgments over the years that the government has failed to act upon. The community's stance was communicated in a communique issued after a consultative meeting at Atan Palace, signed by prominent figures including the Paramount Ruler of Eket and the President General of Ekid Peoples Union, highlighting the community's dissatisfaction with the government's inaction.
