Akpabio Applauds Appeal Court Ruling Against Senator Natasha and Uduaghan

The Nigerian Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, expressed satisfaction with the Appeal Court's ruling against Senator Natasha Akpoti and Uduaghan. The court upheld the Senate's authority to discipline government officials, suspending Senator Natasha for misconduct.

The three-member panel of justices unanimously found that the Senate had the power to suspend Uduaghan for breaching parliamentary privileges. However, the court lifted a contempt proceeding and a 5 million fine against Senator Akpoti.

Akpabio commended the judiciary's stance on the matter during a Senate session in Abuja. The ruling highlighted the Senate's ability to enforce discipline among its members, emphasizing the importance of upholding parliamentary privileges and constitutional rights.
