Nigerian Cooking Gas Prices Drop After Weeks of Soaring Costs

Retail liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices in Nigeria have decreased after a period of soaring costs, with prices falling from a high of 2,000 naira per kilogram to 1,300-1,500 naira. Ayobami Olarinoy of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Retail Association of Nigeria confirmed the price reduction, attributing it to improved supply.

Despite the drop, Olarinoy cautioned that the LPG market is not yet stable. Ga Ekperikp Ekpo of the Ministry of State for Petroleum Resources intervened in the crisis, warning against hoarding and profiteering, while pledging government support for consumers.
