Court Trials John Jude Agbo for Planned School Attacks

The Federal High Court in Abuja began the trial of John Jude Agbo, who was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly planning attacks on schools in Abuja. During the proceedings on Friday, DSS operative Michael Jeggo testified that the agency received intelligence regarding Agbo's plans to destroy property and harm students and teachers.

Agbo was arraigned on March 17, facing two counts under the Terrorism (Prevention) Prohibition Act 2022 and the Cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act 2024. The prosecution presented evidence, including communication gadgets linked to Agbo and a list of targeted schools.

The court admitted various exhibits, including a compact disc containing an audio-visual recording of Agbo's interview. The defense lawyer, Hamza Dantani, did not object to the admission of evidence.

The trial was adjourned to May 12 to allow the prosecution to present additional witnesses.
