Court Declares Keystone Bank Staff Wanted for Fraud

Justice Dipeolu presided over a case involving Okpala, a staff member of Keystone Bank, who has been declared wanted for allegedly defrauding N35 million. The court ordered the Nigeria Police Special Fraud Unit to place Okpala on a wanted list until her apprehension.

The ruling was made during a motion filed by CSP M.Y. Bello, representing the police, which sought assistance from the DSS, Nigeria Immigration Service, and Nigeria Customs Service to arrest Okpala upon her return to Nigeria.

The case stems from criminal charges filed against Okpala and her co-defendant, Onyeto, who were arraigned in the Federal High Court in September 2024 for conspiracy, theft, money laundering, and fraudulent removal of a lien placed on a bank account. Justice Dipeolu granted the request to publish Okpala's name and photograph in national newspapers and on social media to facilitate her arrest.
