Court Sets Date for EFCC and Ex-Minister's Final Address

The Federal High Court in Abuja has set April 23 for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and former Power Minister Engr Saleh Mamman to adopt their final written addresses in an alleged fraud case. The EFCC has charged Mamman with 12 counts of money laundering and conspiracy related to the alleged misappropriation of N33.8 billion intended for the Zungeru and Mambilla hydroelectric power projects.

Mamman has pleaded not guilty to the charges, asserting that the prosecution has no case against him. The EFCC presented 17 witnesses and 43 exhibits during the trial, while Mamman testified as the sole witness for the defense, arguing that the prosecution failed to establish any link between him and the alleged offenses.

The court has admitted various documents related to the case, and the prosecution's counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, has presented evidence regarding transactions linked to Mamman and several companies involved in the alleged fraud.
