Nigerian Court Denies Bail to Alleged Terrorist Negotiator Tukur Mamu Amid Terrorism Financing Charges

The Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected the bail application of Tukur Mamu, an alleged terrorist negotiator currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS). Justice Moham Umar directed the DSS to ensure Mamu receives adequate medical treatment at a hospital of his choice while maintaining his detention.

Mamu, who pleaded not guilty to 10 terrorism-related charges, is accused of exploiting his negotiating role in the Abuja-Kaduna train attack case for financial gain. This marks the third time Mamu's bail request has been denied since his arrest in September 2022.
