Confusion Over NDC Edo South Senatorial Ticket

A crisis has emerged within the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding the Edo South senatorial ticket, following discrepancies in candidate information uploaded on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal. The portal displayed the photograph of Hon. Sunny Aguebor as the NDC candidate, while the name and details of another aspirant, Epelle-Asemota Brigiditte Osayuki, were also included.

This conflicting information has led to confusion among party members and supporters about who the legitimate candidate is. Aguebor asserted that he is the only authentic candidate for the Edo South senatorial election, labeling the discrepancy as an anomaly and attributing it to potential mischief or an error in the information upload.

He emphasized that the party's stance on its candidate remains unchanged. In contrast, Asemota refrained from commenting extensively, stating that the issue is being addressed by the party and INEC.
