Court Remands Suspected Killers of Kano Housewife and Six Children on Multiple Charges

The court in Kano, Nigeria, has remanded Umar Auwalu, Isyaku Yakubu, and Yakubu Abdulaziz, suspected of killing a housewife and six children, on charges including conspiracy, robbery, homicide, and rape. The suspects were arraigned on eight counts related to the crimes allegedly committed on January 17, 2026, in Kano.

The prosecution, led by Abdulkarim Maud, accused the defendants of similar offenses in November 2025. Umar Ali, accused of raping a nine-year-old girl, pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Auwal Yusuf Suleiman ordered the suspects to be remanded and directed the Attorney General's Office to provide necessary defense facilities for the case. The case was adjourned to March 11, 2026, for further mention.
