Bank MD Sentenced to 5 Years for Embezzling N32M in Nigeria

Grace Andrea Karka, the Managing Director of Bongh Micro Finance Bank, has been sentenced to five years in prison by Justice Benjamin Lawan Manji for embezzling N32 million. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed charges against Karka for fraudulent activities, leading to her conviction and a restitution order to repay N29,877,040.

This case highlights the fight against corruption in Nigeria's financial sector. Another recent case involved Nwachukwu Placidu, a former bank manager, who received a 121-year prison sentence for embezzling N112,100,000.
