Court Stays Execution of AMNI Administrator Appointment

The Federal High Court in Lagos, presided over by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, has granted a stay of execution regarding a previous judgment that appointed Mr. Sam Aiboni as administrator for AMNI International Petroleum Development Company Ltd.

This decision follows an appeal filed by AMNI against the ruling delivered on February 13, 2026, in suit number FHC/L/CS/1454/2025. The case arose from a commercial relationship between AMNI and Cenroc FPSO Solutions Nigeria Ltd, which led to the latter seeking a declaration that AMNI was unable to pay its outstanding debts.

The court had previously ruled in favor of appointing an administrator to manage AMNI's affairs. However, AMNI's appeal prompted the court to stay the execution of this judgment, with Justice Aneke noting that sufficient grounds were established for the stay.

The court clarified that the earlier order pertained strictly to administration and not receivership, emphasizing the distinct roles and implications of each under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020.
