OK Movement Challenges NDC Chairman Over Campaign Role

A crisis is developing within the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) due to a disagreement between the party’s National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses, and the OK Movement regarding the latter's role and independence in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The OK Movement, represented by its National Secretary Saadatu Sani, accused Moses of making defamatory statements that misrepresent the movement's structure and independence.

This conflict arose after Moses distanced himself from the OK Movement's recently unveiled 59-member presidential campaign council. The OK Movement emphasized its autonomy, stating that its support for the NDC does not require approval from any individual within the party.

They affirmed their commitment to campaign for the NDC's presidential and vice-presidential candidates while maintaining their status as an independent political organization with approximately 2.5 million registered members. The movement also rejected any notion that its activities are motivated by a desire for political appointments.
