Cristiano Ronaldo Dismisses Ballon d’Or As ‘Fictional’, Hails Arsenal’s Gyokeres As ‘Special’

Cristiano Ronaldo, nominated as captain for the third year in a row, recently scored in a match against Rio Ave and dismissed the Ballon d'Or as 'fictional'. When asked by a reporter to name his pick for the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner, Ronaldo stated that the award holds no relevance.

He previously suggested that the trophy should go to a player who has lifted the UEFA Champions League. Ronaldo also praised Arsenal's summer signing, Viktor Gyokeres, as 'special' and hopes that Sporting Lisbon remains competitive.

Gyokeres, who joined Sporting Lisbon after an outstanding spell in Portugal, has netted an impressive 97 goals in 100 appearances. Ronaldo, who began his career at Sporting, remains optimistic about the club's future despite the departure of Luis Suarez to Almeria.
