Cristiano Ronaldo Tops Fan Poll for Greatest Ballon d'Or Winner
Cristiano Ronaldo is currently leading an official fan poll organized by France Football to identify the greatest Ballon d’Or winner of all time. The poll commenced in early October 2026 and includes ten football legends who have won the prestigious award at least twice.
As of October 20, 2026, the organizers confirmed Ronaldo's frontrunner status via their official 𝕏 account. Participants in the poll have the chance to win two tickets to the 2027 Ballon d’Or ceremony.
The organizers encouraged fans to vote for their choice of the "Ballon d'Or of All Time" among the multiple-time winners. Ronaldo, who plays for Al-Nassr, has won the Ballon d’Or five times, while Lionel Messi holds the record with eight titles.
Other notable competitors in the poll include Michel Platini, Kevin Keegan, Ronaldo Nazario, Marco van Basten, and Johan Cruyff.
