Cross River govt lacks vision, priorities – ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), a leading opposition coalition party in Cross River State, has accused the ruling Progressives Congress (APC) of lacking vision and misplacing priorities in governance. The ADC criticized a recent stakeholder meeting convened by the Cross River State Consultative Forum (CRSCF) and described the comments made as empty propaganda.

The ADC argued that the APC has failed to provide a government manifesto or a detailed account of funds received from federal allocations, local government allocations, internally generated revenue, tariffs, taxes, loans, and grants. The ADC also accused the APC administration of running a job placement scam where citizens are allegedly made to pay for employment opportunities.

The party criticized Governor Bassey Otu's administration for multiple taxation and abandoning former Governor Ben Ayade's industrial initiatives, which could have boosted the state's economy. The ADC maintained that they will not be intimidated and described the criticisms as cheap blackmail by the CRSCF, whom they accused of being government agents.
