Cross River State Launches Project to Enhance Agriculture Sector Compliance

Cross River State has initiated a project in partnership with Pula Advisor and the European Union to enhance EUDR compliance in its agriculture sector. The project aims to modernize the state's agriculture, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and ensure global competitiveness, particularly in cocoa, coffee, and oil palm value chains.

By mapping and verifying approximately 80,000 farms across the state, the project will establish a reliable traceability system, enabling policymakers to assess environmental risks and plan sustainable land use. Professor Susan Ohen, chairperson of the state's multistakeholder committee, praised the ambitious effort, highlighting Pula's AI-driven deforestation monitoring capabilities.

Dr. Michael Enahoro, country director of Pula Nigeria, reaffirmed the commitment to delivering a world-class traceability system.
