Nigerian Customs and NMDPRA Collaborate to Combat Fuel Diversion

The Nigerian Customs Service and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) are joining forces to combat fuel diversion, enhance energy security, and monitor the distribution of petroleum products within Nigeria. The collaboration involves the establishment of a joint task force to track the movement of petroleum products from refineries to retail outlets using advanced technologies.

Regular inspections will be conducted at fuel depots, tank farms, and retail outlets to prevent diversions. The partnership aims to safeguard Nigeria's domestic energy security and prevent revenue losses from fuel smuggling.
