Daddy Freeze Joins VDM's Feud With Apostle Arome Osayi

Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, known as Daddy Freeze, has entered an escalating public dispute involving Apostle Arome Osayi and activist Martins Vincent Otse (VDM). The controversy centres on the cleric's theological positions and supernatural claims that have drawn scrutiny from multiple figures in Nigeria's religious and social media spaces.

Daddy Freeze has targeted Osayi on multiple fronts during livestreams on Instagram. He mocked the cleric after a resurfaced video showed Osayi claiming he halted rainfall in Port Harcourt to protect an outdoor preaching session.

Freeze also questioned why televangelist Femi Lazarus remained silent when Osayi made previous remarks about the late Prophet TB Joshua, suggesting inconsistent accountability standards among religious figures. The broader feud intensified after VDM returned to Nigeria on September 28, 2026.

The activist renewed his public opposition to Osayi, dismissing criticism from supporters who had labelled him adversarial toward the church. Meanwhile, an older video of theologian Dr Abel Damina resurfaced online, showing Damina challenging Osayi's teaching that believers will continue paying tithes in the afterlife—a doctrine Osayi has tied to the eternal priesthood of Melchizedek.

Osayi, who leads the Remnant Christian Network, has faced scrutiny over both his prosperity theology teachings and claims of spiritual authority over natural phenomena. The simultaneous revival of old clips and fresh public criticism from Freeze, VDM, and earlier commentary from Damina has kept the disputes circulating across social media platforms throughout late September 2026.
