Dangote Accuses NMDPRA CEO of Corruption in Nigerian Oil Sector

Aliko Dangote, CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, has demanded the prosecution of Farouk Ahmad, the CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), for alleged corruption and economic sabotage. Dangote accused Ahmad of undermining domestic refineries in Nigeria by colluding with international oil traders to frustrate local refineries and issue import licenses for petroleum products.

Dangote also raised concerns about Ahmad's extravagant lifestyle and potential conflict of interest. The accusations come amidst a backdrop of issues in the Nigerian oil and gas sector, including the reliance on fuel imports despite available domestic refining capacity.
