Dangote Group Breaks Silence on Edo Truck Incident, Announces Compensation

Dangote Group has addressed the recent truck incident in Edo State, promising full medical compensation to Ruth Otabor, a graduate whose sister was injured in an accident involving one of the company's cement trucks. The incident occurred just six days after Otabor's graduation from Auchi Polytechnic.

Eyewitnesses reported that the truck ran over the victim's leg, prompting bystanders to intervene. It remains unclear whether the victim's vehicle was stationary at the time of the accident.

Dangote Group confirmed the incident and stated that a senior official from Dangote Cement Plc, along with the company's insurer, visited the family at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital. The company also highlighted its efforts to increase female representation in its transportation division, with 10 new female trainee drivers enrolled in the program for the 2023 batch.
