Dangote Refinery Exposes Fuel Importers for Fraudulent Practices, Calls for Audit

Dangote Petroleum Refinery accused major fuel importers in Nigeria of inflating petrol consumption data and making fraudulent subsidy claims, leading to public funds drainage. The refinery alleged that the reported daily petrol consumption figure of 93 million liters was grossly overstated, with actual demand significantly lower.

This practice, alongside substandard product supply, has reportedly caused fuel shortages and financial losses for the public. Dangote called for a forensic audit of fuel importers' records to address the issue and ensure transparency in subsidy payments and regulatory compliance.
